ATLANTA – A real estate recruiter from Marietta has found a real deal. Caroline Rich, 59, won $1 million playing the Georgia Lottery instant game World Class Millions.
Feeling lucky, Rich asked her son-in-law to run to the store and purchase a ticket. Old Mountain Park CITGO, 4780 Alabama Road in Roswell, sold the lucky ticket.
"I was feeling it," she said.
Both were elated when they realized it was a winner.
"Nobody slept," the grandmother of four said. "We were talking all night on the phone."
A mother of two adult children, Rich intends to share the winnings with her son-in-law.
"I'd love to pay off my homes and pay off my bills," she shared. "I'd love to take a cruise on a five-star cruise line."
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $11 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. More than 1.1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 940,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
