ATLANTA – A Hogansville woman has won a spicy kettle of cash. Barbara McKeehan won a $30,000 top prize playing the instant game Spicy Cash! "I'm very happy," McKeehan exclaimed. Sunny Food Mart, 300 N. Highway 29 in Hogansville, sold the winning ticket. She was at the store when she scratched off the ticket. "I saw $30 then $30,000," she said. Ecstatic, the mother of three said she began jumping up and down. With her husband, John, McKeehan intends to purchase a new car for her mother and help her younger brother and her son. "I'm going to spend some on myself," she shared. "But family is first." Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $11.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. More than 1.2 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
