Our mission remains the same today as it was when the lottery first started - to responsibly raise as many dollars as possible for the educational programs we fund. We are pleased that the Georgia Lottery set a new record in fiscal year 2009 for profits, contributing more than $872 million to lottery-funded educational programs. As the only traditional lottery in the U.S. to experience 11 consecutive years of growth in profits, the Georgia Lottery is working hard to ensure the future of the HOPE Scholarship and Pre-K Programs for all Georgians.
The lottery's phenomenal growth is a result of hard work and sound business practices. The end result has meant more educational opportunities for a growing number of Georgians. Over 2 million students have benefited from the lottery-funded HOPE Scholarship and Pre-K Programs.
We look forward to building on the high standards of excellence that have always been the hallmark of Georgia's Lottery.
